Dr. Avi Sahota is originally from Surrey, BC. Dr. Sahota has completed 8 years of studies in the ocular and health sciences to become an Optometrist. He graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Further education was undertaken in Oregon at the Pacific University College of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree. He has also been elected to the Beta Kappa Sigma International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Sahota has extensive knowledge and training in all facets of Optometry. He has completed an externship at the Spokane VA eye clinic where he was involved in the treatment and management of patients with advanced eye disease including: glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and other retinal diseases. Dr. Sahota has also completed an externship at Pacific ClearVision Institute in Eugene Oregon, a clinic that specializes in laser refractive surgery, cataract surgery and retinal surgery. In addition, he has extensive experience in contact lens fittings, binocular vision and pediatric care.
Dr. Sahota is driven to keep up to date on the latest information, technology and treatment options to provide the best care to his patients. Dr. Sahota currently resides in South Surrey with his wife Dr. Karen Sahota, and enjoys travelling and working on his car in his free time.
Dr. Karen Sahota is originally from Maple Ridge, BC. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of British Columbia. She then went to Pacific University of College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree (with distinction). Dr. Sahota is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honour Society.
In addition to giving exceptional optometric exams for general eye health and vision correction, Dr. Sahota also specializes in contact lenses fitting, and diagnosis of early glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal pathologies. She also has experience with pediatrics, infant vision, and pre- and post-operative LASIK and cataract surgery through her rotations in the United States at the Spokane VA Eye Clinic, Eugene Oregon Eye Care Centre, and the Oak Harbor Naval Hospital and also through her work in the Lower Mainland. Dr. Sahota is also fluent in Punjabi.
She is dedicated to educating her patients and increasing public awareness about the importance of regular eye health check-ups , and providing her patients with the utmost best care possible. Currently, Dr. Sahota resides in South Surrey with her husband, Dr. Avi Sahota. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and reading.
